What Columbiettes Do

We said it before, but it bears repeating . . .Columbiettes believe in miracles. We believe it is within our power to help enrich the community in which we live.

In a simple sense, Columbiettes 9923 support a "culture of life" explemplified by our activites with our two main charitable entities: The Seamless Garment Minstry and the Golden Living Center.

Sheltering Grace (Formally known as Seamless Garments) is a pro-life ministry and believes in the sanctity of all life. Our ministry offers a four pillar program for expectant, homeless mothers or mothers and children in crisis, 21 and older, in the Atlanta Metro area. The programs are a resident housing program, a non resident program, a resource program and a support program SGM is unique for many reasons. We have the ability to customize the program individually to meet each mothers needs. We not only offer shelter but a comprehensive housing, mentoring and resource program to promote a healthy pregnancy, improve decision making, and progress to independent living. We also make a commitment to the mother that we will provide the resources to meet their needs, such as rent, utilities, daily necessitates, workshops, and most importantly they receive love, nurturing and support they so desperately need. Some of the workshops offered at SGM are life skills, personal growth, stress management, parenting, childbirth/prenatal care, finance, resume building, interviewing skills, spiritual development and household management. These workshops aim to develop their spiritual life while building the women up in all areas of their lives so they can bridge out, to independent living and discover their god given purpose.

At Golden LivingCenter – Kennestone, we are dedicated to providing quality care in an environment that maximizes individuality and freedom of choice. Our skilled nursing facility is located in Marietta, Ga., less than one mile from Kennestone Hospital. In addition to providing compassionate long-term care, we also provide short-term care to those recovering after a surgery or hospital stay. Our services include physical, speech and occupational therapy, IV therapy and wound care. Residents may enjoy a variety of recreational and social activities or spend time relaxing in our courtyard.
